White Trash....

.... probably. But did the kids have a blast? Definitely.

This weekend was very hot here in Bergenfield, NJ. Saturday afternoon Jennie's sister came over with her two kids, Daniel (2yo) and John (2mo). John stayed inside with Jennie and her sister and I was outside with Daniel and our three kiddies. With no air pump on hand, I opted for the sprinkler in the back yard. It sooned turned into pool time when we got the big blue tubs out of the garage and filled them with water.

The blue tarp you see in some of the pictures was my attempt at a home-made slip-n-slide. It worked pretty well considering the yard is sloped that much. After a couple of demonstration slides by me, the kids got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Sunday was much of the same story. In the upper 90's and more pool time.

She's Just Like Her Brother....

A few months back, Thomas got recognized for his unique sleeping position seen here:

Just the other day we found Alexis sleeping on the couch in the playroom. It seems that sleeping in weird positions runs in the family:

Our guess is that she was lying down on the couch and decided to get down. So she swung her feet around and down to get off but then decided she was too tired to follow through and just stayed there.

Searching For Uranus....

from People Magazine:

Lance Bass: I'm Gay
WEDNESDAY JULY 26, 2006 08:30AM EST

Lance Bass, the former 'N Sync heartthrob, reveals that he is gay,
in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. "I knew that I was in this popular band
and I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted
on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything," says Bass,
referring to bandmates Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez and Justin
Timberlake. "I didn’t know: Could that be the end of ’N Sync? So I had that
weight on me of like, ‘Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it's bad.' So I just
never did," he says speaking about his sexual orientation for the first time
with PEOPLE. Now, after years of keeping his personal life private, the
Mississippi-bred, Southern Baptist-reared Bass, 27, is publicly revealing what
he first shared with his friends, then his shocked family.
"He took years to
really think about how he was going to tell everyone," says his close buddy
Fatone, 29, who was the first 'N Sync bandmate to find out Bass is gay. "I back
him up 100 percent." Adds Bass’s longtime pal, actress Christina Applegate:
"I've always accepted him as who he is. It's about his own serenity at this
point." Having pursued acting, producing and – most memorably – space flight
after ’N Sync went on hiatus in 2002, Bass now is looking ahead to new
beginnings. He is in a "very stable" relationship with model-actor-Amazing Race
winner Reichen Lehmkuhl, 32, and is developing an Odd Couple-inspired sitcom
pilot with Fatone in which his character will be gay. Mostly, though, he’s just
enjoying the relief that comes with the culmination of a long, at times
emotionally fraught journey. "The thing is, I’m not ashamed – that’s the one
thing I want to say," he explains of his decision to come out. "I don't think
it's wrong, I'm not devastated going through this. I'm more liberated and happy
than I’ve been my whole life. I'm just happy."
As for why he's talking about this now Bass says, "The main reason I wanted to
speak my mind was that (the rumors) really were starting to affect my daily
life. Now it feels like it's on my terms. I'm at peace with my family, my
friends, myself and God so there's really nothing else that I worry about."

Yes. Lance Bass is gay. He's the guy who wanted to be an asstronaut. From the group that sang the songs Space Cowboy, Giddy Up, I Thought She Knew, The Game Is Over, See Right Through You, Just Don't Tell Me That, Do Your Thing. I'm not surprised at all. The signs were all there.

All joking aside. I feel bad for the guy. Growing up and being in that band must have been extremely difficult for him. He must have been under a ton of pressure to keep his true self under wraps. It would have absolutely killed the group's image and record sales had he come out of the closet earlier.

YouTube....

I decided it was about time to start uploading and sharing videos of the kids. I've created an account on YouTube and here is the first video I uploaded.

This is just the first video I tried. From now on the videos will be a little more entertaining (hopefully).

Now all I have to do is go through all of the tapes from the camcorder and copy them on to the computer and figure out which clips to upload.

I'm hoping this will allow us to all stay in touch a little better. I figure it's a lot easier to send a link to a video than it is to send the actual child cross country!
