These are always fun questions:
If you were picking sides for a one game show down, who is the first player you'd pick (from all the NBA players) for your team?
If you were picking sides for an 82 game season, who is the first player you'd pick for your team?
If you were creating a team to play for the next 7 years, who is the first player you'd pick for your team?

One Game: (in this order)
Tim Duncan-PF
Shaq-C
Garnett-SF
Iverson-SG (almost picked Lebron)
Kidd-PG (possibly Nash)
One Season, the same as one game. Maybe pick Shaq later to account for his injuries, though he's been healthy all this season.
Seven coming years:
Lebron James
Marbury (only 27 vs. Nash 30-something)
Garnett
Yao
Dwayne Wade

Sorry, didn't read the whole thing, you wanted top five picks for each thing.
(in order)
One Game: Duncan, Mike Bibby, Dwayne Wade, Dirk, Chauncey Billups. (emphasis on guys who win, are clutch, and take over games in the 4th quarter. If I watched Paul Pierce play more this year I may have picked him.)
One Season: Duncan, Shaq, Garnett, Dwayne Wade, LeBron.
7 years: LeBron, Wade, Amare Stoudamire, Okafor, hmm... either Ben Gordon or Dwight Howard.
(remember that these really young guys will probably all get better each year, while Duncan, Garnett, etc.. have already peaked physically. 7 years is a long-ass time. 7 years ago Jordan was still winning championships and Ewing was still a Knick.)
I wouldn't touch Stephon with a 10-foot pole for any of these teams. I'm liking him less and less with each Knicks game.
Have we all missed any obvious choices?
