Trivial Knowledge....

For the first time ever, my trivial knowledge of NBA facts have come to be of good use. If you remember, back in December I did a post about Shaq, Mourning, and Laettner being on the same team. I just read an article today on ESPN.com about the Heat signing Mourning which stated:
"If Mourning plays for the Heat this season, Miami will become the first
team ever to have three players play for one team in a season who were
selected 1-2-3 overall from one draft. In 1992, O'Neal, Mourning and
Christian Laettner went 1-2-3."

What this means, I don't know. Just wanted to pat mysef on the back.

Wow, Daff. I wonder if they researched your site in order to some up with this fact.

Even if they didn't, that's pretty good.

A follow up question to that fact is, what good players were drafted after Laettner? Could he go down in the echelon of all-time draft disappointments?

How could he go from dominating in college to below average in the NBA? Was he just not athletic enough to thrive at the NBA level? Does he not have the heart?

Aside from Sprewell, I don't see a significantly better option.

Due to his college success, you could label him a failure, but on the other hand, he's made himself a 12+ year career in the NBA. Not many gies last that long.

Point taken, Daff. Very well done.

His career numbers aren't bad.

Hopefully the link above works when I'm posting this.
